What the ferry offers
- Anchoring points for wheelchairs.
- Adapted seats and restrooms.
- Priority check-in, boarding and disembarking.
- Wheelchair assistance from check-in to the ferry, if you request it.
- Help to reach areas of the ship that are not accessible.
- A short orientation tour of the ship, on request.
How to request assistance
- Tell us before you book or as soon as you book: contact us with your booking number and what you need. We check with the ferry that the assistance is available.
- Ask early: pier assistance should be requested 30 days before you travel.
- On the day of travel, be at the terminal at least 60 minutes before boarding. At busy times there may be a short wait.
For safety reasons, the staff cannot lift passengers or equipment, and they do not help with personal tasks. You do not have to travel with a companion, but you should be able to travel on your own or with the help you bring.
Service dogs
- Service dogs trained to perform tasks for a person with a disability are welcome in the passenger areas and are not treated as pets. They do not pay the pet fee.
- Emotional support dogs are not service dogs: they travel as pets.
- Tell us when you book, and no later than 3 days before you sail. If you need refrigerated space for the dog's food, ask at least 30 days before.
- In public areas the dog must be on a leash or harness, unless that interferes with its work. In that case, keep control with voice or signals.
- Bring the dog's documents to check-in: the same health certificate and import permit the Bahamas requires for pets, and the APHIS 7001 form to return to the U.S. See pet documents.
- The owner is responsible for the dog's care and behavior. A dog that is a danger to others may be denied boarding.
At the port and on the islands
- Port Everglades has accessible parking spaces in its garages, with access to crosswalks and elevators. See parking.
- The island terminals and the activities on shore may be less accessible than the ship. Ask about access at your hotel or activity before you book it.
